Course Space Requests

Instructors and Faculty teaching courses in the College of Fine Arts can request space on the server for those classes. Students enrolled in the class will need to request access via the Course Space Access Request Form. If a student is in the campus directory as being enrolled in the class, no action is required by the instructor. Other students can request access, but those requests must be approved by the instructor.

Course Space allows for a place to share source files with students and allows students to turn in assignments that are larger in size than can be accommodated with other campus resources.

Each course folder has the following subfolders:
Documents: Files placed by the instructor in this folder are readable to students. Only the instructor is able to write or delete files in this folder.
Public: All students who have received access to the course space can add/edit and remove files from this folder.
Dropbox: Students with access to the course folder can write files here and delete files that they have written. They can not view or modify any files placed here by anyone else.
Students: This folder contains links to the home folders of students with access to the course folder. The Student-Homes volume needs to be mounted for these links to work.

Course folders are temporal; student access expires at the end of the semester and the data is deleted before the start of the next semester. Instructors are reminded of the deletion date near the end of the semester so that they can back-up any files they would like to keep and pass the information on to their students so that they can do the same.
